Important Steps to Adoption:

  • Determine if you can support, both emotionally and financially, a loving companion that you'll keep for life and love it unconditionally.
  • Pick out your future companion, or several. You can see only a few here, so see our entire list by visiting our Petfinder.com page OR by contacting us. We can arrange for you to visit one of our foster homes to meet some of our companions looking for good homes.
  • Fill out one of our adoption applications and submit it to an OCAWL volunteer
  • If approved for your future pet, be sure to prepare your home. Buy water and food bowls if you don't already own them. Buy a litter pan, litter scoop, and litter if it's a cat you'll be adopting or a collar and leash if it's a dog. Buy toys and/or other things to spoil your future companion.
  • Read and sign the Adoption Agreement, pay the adoption fee (varies depending upon the pet) and take your new friend home. Be patient with them as they adjust and after a few hours to days you and your new companion will bond in your daily routine.
  • Enjoy your new more fulfilling life.
  • Can't decide or can't have a pet in your current situation? Please think about helping us continue to provide services, donate to OCAWL or volunteer your time with us.

wonderful friends waiting to be adopted

Kittens!

Boy, do we have kittens. We have three males and a female that are all black, one Siamese male, two orange tiger males, an orange/white male and two grey tiger males. They or their mothers have been tested, they have had their first distemper shot and have been wormed. They are all short haired. If you would like to meet one of these babies, please contact Hilary at 315-342-3050.

Toby and Cody

These two kids (they look very much alike) are just a bundle of cuteness. They are males, around 8 weeks old (6/23/08), have been wormed and have had their first distemper shot. They have also been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. They are very outgoing, playful kittens. If you'd like to meet these sweet babies, please contact Barb at 315-963-3794.

Maya

Maya is a super sweet girl with a lot of love to give. She gives the biggest hugs and kisses. She gets along well with other cats and very well with humans. If you'd like to meet this wonderful kitty, please contact Hilary at 315-342-3050.

Ferdinand

Ferd is a giant kitten. He's only 10 months old, but as big as a full grown kitty. He is a total lovebug to humans and doesn't mind other cats at all. He'd be a great addition to your family. If you'd like to meet him, please contact Hilary at 315-342-3050.

Sally

Sally is truly a sweetheart and loves to be held and snuggled. When she first meets you, she will seem very shy, but it doesn't take long for her to warm up to a new person. Her brother, Linus, is the same way. They are so worth meeting. Believe me, you'll fall head over heels for them. If you would like to meet her (or him), please contact Hilary at
315-342-3050.

Petey

Petey is a quiet, shy and very loving kitty. He would need a little time to warm up to a new person, but once he does, you have a friend for life. If you'd like to meet Pete, please call Darlene at
315-343-7320.

Linus

Linus is a sweet boy. He loves to be snuggled and will purr so loudly when he's in your arms. He and his sister, Sally (see above) have similar personalities. They are shy upon first meeting, but once they know you, they love you. If you would like to meet Linus (or Sally), please contact Hilary at 315-342-3050.

Leslie

Miss Leslie is a spunky little thing. She's all tortie. She can dominate the largest of kitties in her home. She's also one of the snuggliest babies you'll ever meet. She has the added cuteness of additional toes in the front. It makes her look like a little bear cub. You have to meet this wonderful girl. To do so, call Hilary at

315-342-3050.

Frankie

Frankie is a sweet, playful girl. She is fairly mellow too when it comes to humans. She doesn't mind being a lap cat. She'd do fine in a home with other cats. If you would like to meet Frankie, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Toesey

This little girl has a heart of gold. She is sweet and playful. She can be a little shy upon first meeting, but once she gets to know you, she's all yours. If you would like to meet this wonderful girl, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Angie

Angie is a sweet, spunky little girl. She loves people and gets along very well with other cats. She's around a year old and still very much a kitten. If you would like to meet this sweetie pie, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Garfield

Garfield and his housemates were surrendered to OCAWL-SPCA when their owner had to move suddenly. Even with the disruption is his life, Garfield is still a sweet, loving boy. He absolutely loves attention. He gets along well with his foster home friends too. If you would like to meet him, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Casey

Don't let that scowl fool you. This little girl is all heart and has a ton of love to give. Casey is shy and quiet. If you have time to sit, she will warm you lap for you. Casey does fine with her roommates, but may not do well with a dog. If you would like to meet this wonderful kitty, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Natasha

Natasha has a feisty and very strong personality. She is sweet and loving just the same. She would do best in a home with few other pets as she tends to want to be the dominant one. If you would like to meet this beauty, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Bobbi

This little girl came to us a while ago as a cruelty case. Someone had cut her tail off and just left her. She was brought in and cared for and has adjusted very well, considering. She has the personality of a kitten. She loves to play, especially with rolls of paper towels, as you can see. Bobbi would fit best in a household with a lot of energy and possibly other pets. She also will lay and your lap and snuggle if the mood strikes her. She's just an all around great kitty with a lot of love to give. If you are interested, please call Hilary at 315-342-3050.

Dana

Miss Dana had a rough start with us as she was hit by a car, which shattered her pelvis. She spent about 4 months in a cage recuperating and is now able to walk and jump like before. Dana has a wonderful personality and gets along with other cats very well. She loves humans the most though. If you'll let her, she'll sit in your lap all day. They figure Dana to be around 1-2 years old. If you'd like to see her in person, please call Hilary at
315-342-3050.

Sweetie

Sweetie at first glance makes you feel sorry for her. She had an eye virus as a wee kitten that has left her one eye quite ulcerated and scarred. This doesn't affect her personality at all. She still zooms around the room with her roommates and has a blast. Sweetie was given her name for the obvious reason. She is truly a lovable girl. If you would like to meet her, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Winston

Winston is a nut. He absolutely loves attention and will insist upon getting it. He gets along all right with younger cats, but tends to not tolerate older (especially male) cats, so it would be best if he were in a home either alone or with maybe only one other female kitty. Don't let that scare you away from him as he is truly a sweetheart. If you would like to meet him, please contact Darlene at
315-343-7320.

Marnie

Marnie is as sweet as she is adorable. She has had two litters of kittens, believe it or not. She has since been spayed and she and her kittens are looking for their forever homes. Marnie, unfortunately, is deaf, but this doesn't slow her down for a second. She just should not live in a home with dogs or small children. A quiet, subdued home would be best for her. She doesn't mind other cats at all. If your home would be perfect for her, please give Hilary a call at

315-342-3050.

Jinx

This gorgeous boy had to be surrendered to us because his owner is elderly and couldn't care for Jinx any longer.  When Jinx first entered foster care he was so afraid and defensive.  With some time and patience, he is now a loving, sweet and nutty kitty.  He had sort of embraced the fun that is his foster home and all of its residents.  Jinx isn't necessarily fond of being picked up and held, but his two caregivers do it to him anyway and smother him with kisses.  He meows in protest and is promptly put down.  He is a definite lap cat, but still loves to bat a toy around too.  He'd do best in a home with few pets and no children.  He is truly an amazing cat and deserves a new home.  For more information, call Hilary at

315-342-3050.

Tigger

Tigger is an energetic, fun-loving kitty. He is a tad bit shy when he first meets you, but once he gets to know you, he's your best friend. He gets along fine with other cats, but would do best in a home with very few of them. He would not do well with dogs or young children. Tigger is about 2 years old, has been neutered and has had his shots. If you would like to meet him, please contact Hilary at
315-342-3050.

Joey

Joey is a super awesome lovebug. He absolutely craves human attention. He will truly be your best friend if you let him. He gets along very well with other cats too. He likes to roughhouse with them. He's approximately 6 months old. If you'd like to meet this wonderful boy, please contact Darlene at 315-343-7320.

Jerry

Jerry and his brother, Tommy, have been with us for too long. There is truly no reason for this. They are two of the sweetest, best behaved kitties you'll ever meet. Won't you call us to meet these wonderful boys? To do so, call Darlene at 315-343-7320.
